Microsoft was launching a new addition to the Office line-up; a free cloud-based productivity platform, called Office Online. Perfectly designed for students, Office Online allows students to create and collaborate on Office documents without compromising formatting when transferring these collaboration docs to the desktop Office suite.
We converted ‘demos’ into currency. Students who completed an Office Online demo received a free coffee voucher to be redeemed at the participating coffee shop on-campus. The demo highlighted compatibility with Office software and formatting with a quick comparison to other productivity platforms. To capture learnings from this pilot program, participants were asked to complete a post-trial survey in order to receive their voucher.
To drive immediate sign up and usage of Office Online, participants were offered a free 16 oz. Travel Coffee Cup if they signed up for a Microsoft Account. Participants were offered the option of using the demo PC or their own laptop, and were shown how to navigate from login to document creation and sharing.
